Around 2001 Graham Gallimore, Managing Director of GKG Solutions Ltd, and his family, had a lifestyle problem when his wife developed Obstructive Sleep Apnoea.  For anyone that has not heard of this condition before, it is defined as the cessation of breathing during sleep, usually caused by an obstruction and/or collapse of the upper airway, particularly when lying down.

 

Graham eventually realised that when his wife fell asleep in the chair, when her upper body was elevated, she didn’t “stop breathing”, and she slept more peacefully.  So, they tried many ways to help solve the problem, including being propped up on pillows, ineffective back supports, as well as moving an armchair into the bedroom! None of which were permanent, comfortable solutions.  What they needed was the upper part of a reclining armchair on the bed … hence the posture safe comfort system!

 

So, after three years of indepth testing of the backrest where his wife slept in hers night after night, Graham has decided to share this wonderful product with many others throughout the UK.  Whether it is required for reading in bed, nursing an infant, meditation or resting in, the posture safe comfort system is welcoming, warm and comfortable.
